Need A Power Chair Program

Donate to the Capital Funding TWT to create jobs for the youth aging out of the foster care system

Everyone suffering from any kind of impairment qualifies for our assistance, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, immigration or financial situation.

Since 2007, American Outreach Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, has served the needs of financially-challenged or underinsured veterans and low-income families throughout Southern California’s Coachella Valley.

At this time we are only serving residents in the Coachella Valley, California

Step 1. Eligibility

Read below to find out if you qualify.

  • Does your doctor recommend that you use a scooter or power chair?

  • Can you provide a prescription or a letter of medical necessity from your doctor?

  • Can you provide a letter of denial from your insurance provider?

  • Do you need financial assistance to purchase a new scooter or power chair?

  • Can you provide proof of annual income (i.e. copy of tax return, annual SSI income, etc.)?

If you answered YES to the questions above,
you may qualify for our program. **

Important Message!

  • If you qualify, you will receive an electric wheelchair or scooter from our inventory that best suits your needs.

  • Our inventory is made of donated models from a variety of brands in various conditions, from “used” to “very good.”

  • You will receive a mobility device in a good working condition.

  • All mobility devices are given free of charge!  However, the recipient is responsible for the cost of the batteries.

  • The price of a set of two NEW batteries varies, depending on the size of the mobility device.

  • If you cannot afford the cost of the batteries, you may receive financial assistance, based on program funding availability.

Step 3:  We deliver to your door.

** Why you may not qualify for our program...

  • You have to follow the doctor’s advice to stay active; we cannot assist you against your doctor’s professional opinion.

  • Your doctor should submit a mobility evaluation to qualify you first with your insurance provider.

  • You have the financial means to afford your own scooter or power chair.
