We invite you to get involved with American Outreach Foundation, to take action and become a volunteer.

Everyone can make a difference. Share your skills, knowledge and ideas from a computer anywhere in the world.

There is a lot to be done at all levels in a non-profit organization. We realize that your time is precious and valuable! As we value your involvement and commitment, we would like offer some tips on volunteering wisely in order to make your personal endeavor a successful and rewarding experience.

Consider the skills you have to offer.

There is no end to the creative ways for volunteering, just as there is no end to the need for volunteers. Although computer skills are important, they are not essential. The same is true for people whom might decide to volunteer doing something comparable to what they do during the normal workday or simply helping in an area completely different as many see this philanthropic involvement as a favored hobby.

Create opportunities to learn something new

Consider volunteering where you would learn something new, as a change from your daily routine. We learn from each other, however, such work might require a time commitment for training. That is where the fun is, working as part of a team effort.

Do not over-commit your schedule

Make sure you volunteer the time that fits your schedule, so that you do not frustrate your family, exhaust yourself or neglect your job. Better to start out slowly than to commit yourself to a schedule you can not – or do not want to fulfill.

Consider Volunteering as a Family

Think about volunteering together with your children, or as husband and wife taking on the work as a team.  When a family volunteers together, the experience brings them closer together. The same as it teaches young children the value of giving their time and effort and offers the entire family a shared experience as a  wonderful memory.

Consider Virtual Volunteering

You do not have to be local to volunteer for AOF with today’s technology. Wherever you are located, you can  commit to virtual volunteering from a distance with just a “click”. Virtual volunteering might well be suited for  you if you have limited time, or are at a distance from AOF. With computer access and the necessary skills,  get involved by working on the newsletter, networking online through Facebook, email editing or promoting AOF throughout the internet.
