Mr. Oscar Llort
Founder, President, Board Member
Oscar Llort serves as the Foundation’s Chairman of the Board and Director of Operations, contributing more than thirty years of broad executive experience in general business, technical, manufacturing and marketing management.
Oscar started his professional career as a production plant assistant manager and later, as CEO of a manufacturing corporation. He was also responsible for introducing the first line of high-tech security products for business and governmental security defense applications to the European market.
He relocated to the U.S. with his family in the early 1990s after a rewarding early professional career.
He has been married to his wife, Monique, for almost 40 years and has three adult children.
Mr. James Egan
Senior Vice President, Board Member
James brings over forty-eight years of executive business experience both domestic and internationally as the former President, Latin America, Tyco International.
His astute financial insight provides a pragmatic approach in corporate affairs and growth management. James is a Trustee Board Member of the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Ms. Victoria Llort
Vice President of Fundraising and Public Relations, Board Member
Victoria is Vice President of Fundraising and Public Relations for American Outreach Foundation and is often seen as its public face.
A seasoned public relations professional with a Master’s degree in Political Science, Victoria has built her career in local government and non-profit organization management. She brings to the board proven skills in community outreach, public relations, and communication effectiveness. She represents the culture of the organizations she serves with authentic leadership, empowering others and spurring innovation.
Victoria currently works as a Strategy and Policy Advisor at the 4th District Riverside County Supervisor’s office.
Mr. Dennis Coleman
Dennis is a retired, 35-year local government financial professional. He served in various financial and accounting positions for several local governmental entities.
Dennis currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Valley Sanitary District in Indio California. The Valley Sanitary District is a California Special District governed by a locally elected Board of Directors. Dennis is currently serving a term which ends in December of 2022.
Dennis has two daughters, Kayla Davis and Kierra Coleman, and two grandsons, Cole and Brodie. Dennis attended Alliant International University (AIU) in San Diego, where he received his B.S. degree in Business Administration in 1978.
Ms. Fran Barborak
Fran offers a lifelong experience in accounting and financial preparations in the business and corporate field. Fran contributes with dedicated voluntarism and professionalism to effectively carry out the supervisory responsibilities of the accounting process. Fran insures that the preparations and financial statements of the Foundation are in compliance.

Mr. Peter Potente
Peter is the CEO/Managing Partner at Potente, Professional Law Corporation in San Diego. For more than a decade, the firm successfully advises businesses and individuals throughout California and internationally in matters from corporate general counsel; business succession to finance; mergers and acquisitions. A graduate of California Western School of Law in San Diego, Pete's contributions include a wealth of name branding, business dealing and networking, with extensive experience and knowledge in ethical & regulatory nonprofit governance.
Mr. Ernesto Rosales
A lifelong resident of the Coachella Valley, Ernesto is actively involved in various charitable organizations in the community as well as in the Indio and Coachella Chambers of Commerce. Ernesto contributes to the board of the American Outreach Foundation as a reputable public figure recognized for his altruistic heart, high energy, and savvy professionalism.
Mr. Dan Mechem
Dan is a seasoned media and entertainment executive, and Senior Vice President for Unit 9, a London based agency with offices worldwide. Dan is also Chairman of Mechem Media, an animation and live action studio in Hollywood. Mechem started his career as Press Secretary for John McCain, and subsequently became a reporter for Fox News. Dan brings extensive experience in marketing and public relations. He contributes as a board member helping business, sponsorship and fundraising development with insightful perspectives and dynamic marketing approaches.
Ms. Valentine Llort
Secretary, Board Member
Along with a Masters’ Degree in Library Science & Management, Valentine brings ten years of fundraising experience and a unique business take. She contributes as a board member and assistant director in the operations of the foundation.
Mr. Maurice Trudell
Maurice is a successful small business owner and commercial realtor investor. With over 35 years in the moving and storage industry, he is the owner of ACME Moving & Storage in Palm Desert, CA.
He is a great believer in giving back to the community and is in various philanthropic activities.
Mr. Arthur Llort
With undergraduate degrees in Economics and History from the University of Redlands, Arthur, is currently in his third year at the University of San Diego, School of Law. He provides pro bono work for USD’s Small Claims and Entrepreneurship Legal Clinics and is currently on the San Diego Law Review. Arthur serves as board member with an already extensive experience in corporate law and business dealings.
Charlie serves as American Outreach Foundation’s Administrative Assistant. Charlie is a rescue Doberman Pinscher from the Riverside County Animal Shelter in San Jacinto.
In Charlie’s words, “I was left overnight in a drop box. Scared and all alone, I didn't know what was going to happen to me. Now, I am so happy! I even wish my tail would wag faster! My favorite hobbies, when not going to the park to exercise, are going to work every day and being the gatekeeper at the Foundation’s office!”
